Los Angeles got over a foot....of hail...the other day.
The picture in the NY Times showed a kid shoveling the hail in the street...very amusing.

one year ago,there was a pupil from Melbourne in our class!and when it began to snow,she was totally surprised and happy,so thought there is no snow in Australia!

Again... it was hail
. Generally it does not snow in Australia, at least not in any of the major towns/ cities. However obviously we do get some snow up in the mountains, but that is usually the extent of it.
