Just found these shots. Apparently taken June 4, 2005, so they are pretty recent. You can see some of the projects underway within the downtown area.

MONTRÉAL Plateau Mont Royal

My stay in Montréal was quite short - just 2 days, but I was able to cover most of the places that I wanted to go. Since I've been the city many times before, I only had to hit specific places that I didn't go to before. In future visits, I'll focus more on residential architecture. Many of the city's residentials have interesting staircases. These are quite unique to Montréal.

Lafontaine Park is Plateau Mont-Royals biggest park. A 40-hectare gem of traditional park landscaping, it includes two linked ponds with a fountain and waterfalls,

These scenes would be dominated by acres of parking lots if this were an American city of Perth's size. People obviously drive; where do they store their cars? Particularly in that photo by waustralia the cars must be amazingly well integrated one car at a time, so they don't cause the discontinuities and disruptions that make walking in American cities next to impossible.

Nearly all buildings have car parks underground. Though the pictures don't show it, there are area's on the very fringe of the CBD where there are open parking area's. Many people also take PT into the city. The rail system has come a long long way in Perth. In this pic you will notice the construction area to the left of the long flat silver building.
