Safer than most large cities. Forumers here will agree it's safer than the likes of London, etc. In terms of pure crime, the only world city I know of that beats Hong Kong in safety is Tokyo.

You will see seniors having their morning exercises in parks as early as 5am and children still going to 7-elevens for candies as late as 10pm. Isn't that a good indication?
